BW Architects is a RIBA chartered practice that specialises in passive house and sustainable design. We have over 20 years of experience in designing low energy and low impact buildings that can generate as much energy as they use.

We are accredited by the Passive House Institute and have completed several projects that meet the rigorous standards of this certification.

We offer a range of architectural services for both residential and commercial clients, including new build, conversion, extension, restoration, tourism, community, arts and culture. We work with both modern and traditional buildings in various contexts and locations.

We aim to create high quality, cost effective and appropriate solutions that meet the needs and aspirations of our clients.

We are based in East Lothian, Scotland, but we work across Scotland and Northern England. We have undertaken projects in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Newcastle, York, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham, London and other places. We have also worked on international projects in Ireland, France, Spain and Italy.

We are a small and friendly team of architects, technicians and consultants who are passionate about architecture and sustainability. We provide a personal and professional service that covers all stages of the building process, from initial concept to completion. We also offer advice and guidance on planning, building regulations, funding, procurement and project management.
